12. U-cam grooving

Setup on BAZIS Modeling:

To set up the groove milling operation for U-shaped cams in Woodsoft Nesting, you need to configure the fittings in BAZIS Modeling according to the standard fitting specifications and adjust the groove depth depending on the type of board used. You can create fitting diagrams similar to those for standard cam-lock fittings.

Notes:

• Set the minimum setback to 80 mm.

• When installing fittings, note that they must be oriented the same way to assemble properly. To change the direction of a joint, point the mouse at the joint you want to change and click the middle mouse button; then the diagram will mirror the other joint.

• For standard U-shaped cam fittings, please contact Woodsoft Vietnam for supply and support.

Setup on Woodsoft Nesting:

• Step 1: Declare the actual cutter diameter as 1.1. It’s recommended to note the exact cutter position to avoid incorrect setup.

• Step 2: In the setup for cutting, grooving, and recessing with U-Cam, set both the minimum and maximum groove width to 1.1 so the system can automatically recognize and assign the correct cutter.

• Step 3: After finishing the setup, click the “Save tool settings” button, then run Nesting. The system will automatically detect and generate the G-Code file, which includes the groove-cutting commands for installing the U-Cam.
